PS3 Quick Rumors and Updates!

Posted in General, news & rumors at 10:43 am by playstation3

Sorry guys, I’ve got a cold and I was forced to bed until today :)

I’m feeling quite good now, just to know it.

Let’s make a quick resume of things we missed while I was out:

GameSHOUT guys said that in their opinion PS3 release date will be delayed until 2007, this is an extract from their words:

“At first, we here at GameSHOUT thought that this was pure speculation, or rumours. But, about 2 weeks ago, the BBC news was covering the Digital Life Expo at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. They stated that the PlayStation 3 launch date is 2007.

The actual quote is, ‘By launching its new Xbox 360 22 months ahead of the PlayStation 3, it’s hoping it’ll be able to win over the minds and money of gamers’, said BBC.?

well, I don’t care anymore about those “predictions”. Let’s go ahead…

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd will mass-produce double layer BluRay discs.

For PS3 newbies’ information, Blu-Rays are  a new optical discs able to store 50 gigabytes of data (more than 10 single layer dvds).

Matsuhita installed a line to produce double-layered discs at a California site in October and is now working to raise production speed as well as lower costs and defects.

Also, they already started mass-production of Blu-ray discs, and they are getting ready to commercialize that business.

Then, then…

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will feature a shaving mini-game. OMG yes :D there will be a possibility for Snake to whip out its mighty stealth razor, with built-in micro-missile launcher and… tootbrush.

I hope this isn’t a fake :P

That’s all, folks!
