PlayStation 3 Details To Be Revealed Tomorrow
Tomorrow (March 15th) Sony will hold the “PlayStation Business Briefing 2006 March” in Tokyo from 3pm. So, the Japanese do intend to reveal something about the PlayStation 3. The official announcement (issued today through Reuters) is rather vague and doesn’t provide many details. The statement only mentions that it will be an event to announce the future of the PlayStation side of Sony’s business.
However, we do know for sure that Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi will be attending this meeting, so there will be something important going on. And, I ask you, what could be more important than the PlayStation 3?
These events typically address platform strategy, loyalty structures, development-related plans and other details that aren’t as interesting to us, but the fact that they opened the meeting up raises the possibility that there might be more (Yuta Sakurai, a senior analyst with Nomura Securities)
On the other hand, don’t get your hopes too high, ’cause it’s highly unlikely that Sony will be talking too much about its new console. Some analysts believe Sony would have planned a much bigger event in order to disclose details about a launch schedule and software lineup, or some info about the final design of the console and controller. I guess we’ll see tomorrow what’s all the fuss about.
